Absucralfate - BULK PACK
AbSucralfate (sucralfate) is one of Abler’s most popular products for the symptomatic treatment of equine glandular gastric ulcer disease (EGGUD) and equine squamous gastric ulcer disease (ESGUD). Also known to be effective for treating the hindgut and right dorsal colitis. Ulcers are a common issue amongst stabled horses, performance horses stressed by a changed environment or horses being treated with anti-inflammatories.
Sucralfate binds to gastrointestinal mucosa, and acts as a "band-aid" to the ulcer crater, offering relief from pain associated with ulcers.
Each dose of AbSucralfate is effective for 6-8 hours.

Dosage and Administration
Sucralfate is used to treat a wide range of conditions; the treatment regime will alter depending on the severity and type of the ulcer. Treatment (in conjunction with omeprazole) • Days 1 to 28: ONE sachet or scoop of omeprazole per 175kg (385lbs), administered as a single dose per day for 28 days. • Days 1 to 21: ONE sachet or scoop of sucralfate per 165kg administered as a single dose either three times (ideal) or twice per day for 21 days. Prevention (in conjunction with omeprazole) After completing the treatment regime, gradually reduce the dosage of: • Omeprazole to ONE sachet or scoop per 350kg (770lbs), (385lbs), administered as a single dose per day for 42 days. • Days 43 to 56: ONE sachet or scoop of omeprazole per 175kg (385lbs), administered as a single dose per day for 14 days (if the condition persists). • Days 1 to 21: ONE sachet or scoop of sucralfate per ongoing. NON GLANDULAR (SQUAMOUS) ULCERS administered as a single dose per day ongoing. • Sucralfate to ONE sachet or scoop per 500kg (1100lbs), administered as a single dose once per day, ongoing. GLANDULAR ULCERS Treatment (in conjunction with omeprazole) • Days 1 to 42: ONE sachet or scoop of omeprazole per 175kg 165kg(365lbs), administered as a single dose either three times (ideal) or twice per day for 21 days. • Days 22 to 56: ONE sachet or scoop of sucralfate per 330kg (990lbs), administered as a single dose either three times (ideal) or twice per day for 35 days. Prevention • ONE sachet or scoop of sucralfate per 500kg (1100lbs), administered as a single dose either three times (ideal) or twice per day.
